Job Summary:
Provide proactive onsite human resources support to the project team. This role serves as the primary HR resource focusing on onboarding, performance management, employee relations, policy presentation, mobilization/demobilization coordination, and supporting corporate wellness and open enrollment initiatives.
Primary Duties:
- Serve as the primary onsite HR partner for project leadership and personnel to maintain a positive, productive, and compliant work environment.
- Facilitate onsite onboarding and orientation efforts for new hires, introducing them to company standards, practices, and culture.
- Field employee concerns and provide guidance on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and employment laws.
- Assist project and corporate HR leadership with the objective investigation and resolution of misconduct or procedural violations.
- Coach and support managers through the performance management process, including direct report development and performance improvement plans.
- Support workforce planning, personnel mobilization/demobilization, lay-offs, and termination processes.
- Coordinate and champion corporate open enrollment, benefits communication, and wellness initiatives at the project site.
- Deliver policy presentations and company standard briefings to onsite personnel.
- Partner with corporate HR, recruiting, payroll, safety, and training teams to resolve timekeeping/pay discrepancies and manage human resource metrics.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and provide data analytics/reports on relevant HR metrics as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of five years progressive Human Resources experience, including at least two (2) years focused on onboarding and employee relations.
- Three or more years of experience within construction or engineering. Prior commercial onsite project experience is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to work on-site at the designated project location.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Competencies:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently deliver presentations and training to diverse groups of employees and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and conflict-resolution skills, with a proven ability to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of tasks under tight project deadlines.
